MMJ Store to Open At Bob Marley Museum In Jamaica

In other #international #news, plans are revealed to open a #cannabis retail location at the #BobMarley Museum in #Kingston, #Jamaica. The Marley family, in collaboration with #Docklight Brands, who hold exclusive rights to use the late #reggae icon’s name in #cannabinoid products, will bring their Marley #Natural line to the island nation through the new flagship #MMJ #dispensary. The store will sell #medical #marijuana, #CBD products, and accessories, and joins the theater, #photo #gallery and gift shop currently in operation at Marley’s former residence and #recording #studio, which was converted into a museum by his wife in #1987. According to his son #Stephen, the family is excited to honor Marley’s contribution to the world of cannabis, as he was always a strong #advocate for the plant and its healing qualities. Jamaica legalized medical marijuana in 2015, and since its first dispensary opened in 2018, it has been available to residents and tourists 18 years and older with a local doctor’s recommendation. Docklight’s new dispensary will be the first in the company’s global expansion of the Marley Natural brand, with future retail outlets planned for other locations on the island and elsewhere in #North #America. The Kingston site has already received conditional approval from Jamaica’s Cannabis Licensing Authority and is expected to open sometime later this year.
